Penrith Hookups: Penrith Women Want to Meet

Casual sex in Penrith, with the Nepean at your feet and the mountains in view.

Penrith is where Sydney runs out of flat land

Look west from Penrith and the Blue Mountains fill the skyline; look east and the Cumberland Plain rolls back towards the city. The Nepean River runs along the town's western edge, and Penrith is the administrative centre of its council area, with the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Complex (opened in 1990) on High Street and a Museum of Printing that opened in 2001.

Casual sex in Penrith can start with something as simple as a walk beside the river with a mountain backdrop, and the Nepean Belle, a paddlewheeler in the old style, sits on the water at Penrith. The features page covers how profiles, matches and messaging work.

Trains, roads and a very hot summer

Penrith station is on the Main Western line, with frequent services to and from the city, and it is a stop on the intercity Blue Mountains Line. A bus interchange sits at the station. By road you come in on the M4 or the Great Western Highway.

Summer note: Penrith reached 48.9°C on 4 January 2020, the hottest place on earth that day, and summer afternoons here run a few degrees above the harbour. Book a morning or an evening, or stay near the water.

The other end of the day runs cool. Nights are a few degrees colder than Sydney's on most nights of the year, and frost turns up on some winter mornings, so bring a jacket if you are meeting after dark.

Olympic water for a first outing

The Sydney 2000 Olympics left Penrith two unusual places to meet, and the town has two more worth knowing.

  • The rowing lake

Penrith Lakes, a system of flooded quarries west of Cranebrook, hosted the Olympic rowing. The course is rated Level One for international events.

  • The whitewater

North of the rowing lake, Penrith Whitewater Stadium, built for the 2000 Olympics, is the only pump-powered artificial whitewater slalom course in the Southern Hemisphere.

  • Pondi Beach

An artificial beach on the lakes, for an afternoon beside the water.

  • Museum of Fire

A heritage collection of fire engines, from an 1869 manual engine to a 1939 Dennis.

What ages to expect in New South Wales

Penrith belongs to New South Wales, so these bars are the ages of our members across the state. The 18 to 24 bar is a touch longer than 25 to 34, and the longest bars sit further along, at 35 to 44 and 45 to 54.

East to the city, west into the mountains

East along the railway, Parramatta is 29 kilometres away in a straight line, and Sydney's centre is about 55 kilometres east. West, the Blue Mountains rise just beyond the Nepean, and the Blue Mountains page is 36 kilometres off in a straight line. The line runs both ways, so a meeting halfway is easy to arrange.

Penrith hookups: the short answers

Should I set Penrith or Sydney as my nearest town?

Choose whichever is closer to where you actually live. Other members see your nearest town or city, not your name or address, so the choice is about distance, not privacy. If you will happily cross town for the right person, say so in your profile.

How do I get back to Penrith after midnight?

Penrith station has a bus interchange, and the NightRide route 70 bus serves it, so that is the place to start when you plan a late trip home. Check the timetable for your night, and book a lift if you will be out later.

Is there anything to do in Penrith for a first meeting that is not a bar?

Plenty that is public: a show at the Q Theatre in the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Complex, a walk beside the Nepean, or the heritage fire engines at the Penrith Museum of Fire. Keep it to daylight or early evening, and send a friend your plan. The hookup safety tips have more.

Can I meet someone halfway along the Blue Mountains line?

Yes. The Blue Mountains Line stops at Penrith, and the mountains rise just beyond the Nepean, so the railway makes a midpoint easy to find. Pick a public spot close to a station, and check the last service home before you commit.
