Hookup sites and apps
Is There a Good Hookup Site or App in Australia?
Yes, several. Here is how the main ones differ, so you can pick the one that matches what you want.
Yes. HookUps365, Tinder, Feeld, RedHotPie and Fling are open to Australians, and AdultFriendFinder's pages offered Australian terms when last archived in October 2026. Locanto's classified ads included a Personals section when last archived in November 2025. They differ on how openly you can talk about sex, what chatting costs and how you use them.
"Good" depends on three things: how much you want to say about sex on your profile, how you would rather pay, and whether you want an app on your phone or a site in your browser. The table below sets the main services against those three, using what each service says about itself, and the sections after it help you choose.
The main options side by side
Details for Tinder, Feeld and RedHotPie were read on each service's own pages on 24 October 2026, and a row taken from an archived copy says so.
| Built for | Cost model | How you use it | |
|---|---|---|---|
| HookUps365 | Casual sex with no commitments | Classic sends a limited number of messages a day; VIP lifts the limit (see the pricing page) | Any browser, or a home-screen web app |
| Tinder | General dating; its guidelines keep sexual content and looking for sex off public profiles but allow them in private chat when everyone is comfortable | Free to use, with optional paid plans | iPhone and Android apps |
| Feeld | A dating app for the curious, which says it can be used for hookups but is not only that | Free to download, with an optional paid membership | iPhone and Android apps, no browser version |
| RedHotPie | Casual and lifestyle dating, with events and parties; run from Western Australia | Free to download, with a paid subscription for more | iPhone app; its site also shows an Android download button |
| AdultFriendFinder | As last archived in October 2026, an adult-oriented site for casual dating and encounters | Free to sign up, with paid features (as archived October 2026) | In a browser, including on a phone (as last archived October 2026) |
| Fling | A casual dating site and app | Free to join and browse; its terms say a paid membership is needed to start or read conversations (as archived October 2026) | Browser, plus iPhone and Android apps |
| Locanto | General classified ads, with a Personals section of member-written ads; not a matching service (as archived November 2025) | Essentially free of charge, with paid options for advertisers (as last archived December 2025) | Website, plus an app |
How to choose in four questions
- How open do you want to be? A general app can leave you hinting. Tinder, for one, asks that sexual content and looking for sex stay out of public profiles, though it allows them in a private chat once you both want to. A site made for hookups lets you say it plainly from the first line.
- How do you want to pay? Most of the other services here let you start without paying and charge for chatting freely or for extras, so check what the entry level lets you do before you rely on it. On HookUps365, Classic members can send a limited number of messages a day and answer any VIP or VIP Plus member.
- Where will you use it? If you would rather not install anything, a site that runs in the browser is simpler. HookUps365 works in any browser and can sit on your home screen like an app.
- How private does it need to be? On HookUps365, others see a username and the town nearest you; your name, email and address are never shown. Check what any service shows before you sign up.
What about classified ads and the old personals sites?
When last archived in November 2025, Locanto, a classified-ads service, still ran a Personals section. It works differently from a dating site: people post ads and others reply to them, with no matching, so you do the sorting yourself. Gumtree's posting rules ban personal ads, including ads for dating or casual encounters, and its Friends and Dating link disappeared from its homepage in October 2023. Craigslist dropped its personals from its Australian pages in 2018.
That leaves a handful of dating apps and sites, which is what the table covers. For a closer look at any of them against HookUps365, see our comparisons with Tinder, Feeld, RedHotPie and Locanto.
Where HookUps365 fits
HookUps365 has been online since 2016 and exists for adults who want casual sex with no commitments, so what the site is for is clear from the start. You make a profile, set your nearest town, browse your daily matches and message the people you like. Block or report anyone instantly, and human support is there around the clock by chat and message.
It is not the only choice, and for some people another one will suit better. If you want a general dating app with a huge pool, Tinder is built for that. If you want to browse in a place that says what it is for, start with the casual sex dating page and the features page, then decide.
Hookup sites and apps: your questions
Is there a good hookup app in Australia?
Yes, depending on what you want. Feeld says it can be used for hookups, RedHotPie mixes dating with parties and events, and Tinder is a general dating app; all three are apps you can download. HookUps365 runs in your browser and on your home screen without a download.
Is Tinder good for hookups?
It is a general dating app, so people come to it wanting different things. As at 24 October 2026, its guidelines keep sexual content and looking for sex off public profiles, while allowing them in a private conversation when everyone is comfortable. Our Tinder comparison goes through the details.
Do I have to pay to use a hookup site?
Most of the other services in the table let you start without paying and charge for extras or for chatting without limits. On HookUps365, Classic members can send a limited number of messages a day, and the pricing page shows what VIP and VIP Plus add.
Are hookup sites safe to use?
Any site is safer when you use it carefully: keep early chat on the site, never send money, meet in public and tell a friend where you are. HookUps365 shows only a username and your nearest town. The hookup safety tips cover the habits in full.
Can I use Gumtree or Craigslist for hookups in Australia?
Not for personals. Gumtree's rules ban personal ads, including ads for dating or casual encounters, and Craigslist dropped its personals from its Australian pages in 2018. Locanto's Personals section was still there when its site was last archived in November 2025.
