Stay in control
Hookup Safety: Stay in Control Before and After You Meet
What the site does, what stays in your hands, and where to turn if a chat or meeting goes wrong.
Protection that runs in the background
Age and identity
Age is estimated automatically, with extra checks where the law requires them. Admin profile validation needs no sensitive documents.
Watching for trouble
AI monitoring looks for suspicious behaviour, and a warning appears if someone tries to take your chat to an app such as WhatsApp.
Content
Content is screened on upload using AI and human review. Potentially sensitive images arrive blurred behind a warning, and takedown requests get a swift response.
People and standards
Human support answers by chat and message at any hour. Safe-dating tips sit inside the site, hosting is secure with SSL encryption, and HookUps365 is involved with the Online Dating and Discovery Association.
Your name, your location, your call
- Block anyone in an instant so they can no longer contact or see you, and report a member or content from inside the site.
- Check a member's reputation score before replying, and rate an exchange up or down in one click.
- Verify your ID for a badge, at no charge on every level, or take a live video check with a moderator that needs no documents. Both are optional.
- Show a username, not your name, and your nearest town, not your address.
- Victoria Police advises keeping your workplace and social accounts off the profile, and using photos not found on your social media.
Six steps before a first meeting
- Ask for a video call. The Australian Federal Police (AFP) suggests it, with a warning that AI-generated calls can look blurry or sound glitchy.
- Check the photos. Victoria Police and the AFP both recommend a reverse image search.
- Chat on the site first. The AFP says to stay on the platform until you are sure who you are talking to.
- Choose a public place. Queensland Police Service and Victoria Police both advise meeting in a public place.
- Tell a friend, and sort your own way home. Queensland Police advises sharing the plan beforehand, texting afterwards and arranging your own transport.
- Watch your drink and trust your gut. Queensland Police says to limit alcohol, never leave a drink unattended and leave if something feels suspicious.
Warning signs of a dating scam
The AFP, Victoria Police and Consumer Affairs Victoria describe much the same pattern. The person pushes you to text or use another app almost at once, floods you with attention and big declarations, and always has a reason they cannot meet or video chat. They ask you to keep it from friends and family. Then comes money, often urgent and often tied to an investment or cryptocurrency.
The one rule: never send money or share accounts with anyone you have met online, the AFP says, and Consumer Affairs Victoria warns that moving money on for someone else can make you part of money laundering.

- Scamwatch. Consumer Affairs Victoria says to report the scam there and to the site where it happened.
- ReportCyber. Where the AFP and Victoria Police say to report cybercrime to police.
- eSafety. Report intimate images shared without consent at esafety.gov.au/report. The eSafety Commissioner can issue removal notices under the Online Safety Act 2021.

Threatened over photos or video? The ACCCE's sextortion guidance says stop replying, do not pay, keep screenshots, then block and report the account on the site.
Safety questions, answered
Is HookUps365 safe to use?
You get a username, instant blocking, easy reporting, optional ID verification and human support at any hour. Nobody can promise how another person behaves, so add your own judgement and the hookup safety tips.
How do I report someone?
Report the member or content from inside the site, then block the person for no further contact. Human support is there by chat and message. If money went, ring your bank and report it to Scamwatch; if you shared personal details, IDCARE can help.
Who can see my details?
Members see a username, the photos you choose to share and the nearest town or city you picked. The member terms also let your profile appear to members of other sites the company runs, and let the company use profile photos, usernames and descriptions in its promotions. Real names and email addresses are not shown, and the site never gives out a street address or a live location. The house rules rule out harassment and stalking.
